UNION VS KEMPTON PARK ON 29-01-2011

Under 19

The youngsters showed a gutsy performance by beating Kempton 25 -10.

Under 21

A lot of talent was shown and with a little bit of hard work they gonna be a force to be reckoned with and went down to Kempton 7 -11.

3rd Side

This side is definitely gonna dominate this year plenty talent to move up to higher places. They beat Kempton 15 -12.

2nd Side

This mean machine pack of forwards and a very good talented backline ran riots against their opponents. The pack of forwards laid a good foundation for the backs to counter attack from all angles. They beat  Kempton  35 - 7

1st Side

The score does not show a true reflection of the game. The forwards outplayed their opponents in a lot of departments  by turning  over a lot of possession.  It was a battle between the two pack of forwards. The backs showed tremendous pace and handling skills. The team played as a unit  and not as individuals. With some more skill work and the guts and heart they played with, they are gonna be a force to be reckoned with. They beat Kempton 15-14.

UNION  VS  OOSTELIKES PRETORIA  ON 05/02/2011

U 19    Did not play

U  21   Did not play

3 rd side

We played against their u 21 side which ended in a very tough encounter . A couple of players caught the eye and made an impression.Altough we went down  7 - 14 the side played very well.

2 nd side

A side to watch this year. With lot of talent to offer among the backs and forwards this  side is definetly gonna be a big force this year. Another good win of  7 - 5 does not reflect the attractive running rugby they played.

1 st side

What a tough encounter.Oostelikes came with everything they played in our faces with a very robust  style of rugby. This game was used to try a couple of combinations in various positions we made 10 changes to the starting lineup . We olso lost 2 players due to injuries. Again  we  were denied 3 tries which could of made a huge difference to  the score. The second half we kept our cool  and  played champaine rugby right out of  the text book. The score of  12 - 19  actually flatters Oostelikes.

NEXT GAME  WILL BE AGAIST  UJ  AT UNION ON  12/02/2011

Union vs UJ ON 12/02/2011

Our u/19 side got on the field with one thing on their mind and that was to  beat UJ. Al tough they went down 5 - 7 they played with determination and passion .Well done guys.

The u/21 side came with everything and  they gave ever thing . They dominated the game in lots of departments and even leading the game until UJ came back and won the game 20 - 15 . This side is playing better and better with every game and shows a lot of  talent for the future.

The 2nd side had a very quiet first half. They started picking up in the second half and they started gelling .A lot of positive things came out of the game The score of  34 - 12 to UJ  and a lot of missed opportunities  could of made the score more even.

Again it shows if the opportunity comes take it. The 1st side stuck to their guns but a lack in  concentration cost them the match. The students came out and attack from all angles and our guys defended like demon's. The  tempo of the game started picking up and then we started lacking in that department. The score ended 32 - 3 in favour of UJ.

The 1st side won all the departments of the game except the scoreboard. The score of 17-13  to Vaal Reefs is not a true reflection of the game.

Over confidence crept in and lost focus for ten minutes and also took the foot of the pedal where they allowed Pirates to score three tries in ten minutes and  wrapped up the game with a victory of 28-27.
