Louis attended Voorbrand Laerskool. During 1971/2 he played for the first side. He also played soccer where he represented Southern Transvaal. He was offered a scholarship at the age of 12 to go to England by Roy Bailey, the father of the legend, Gary Bailey which he declined. He attended Fakkel Hoërskool from 1973 where he represented the U/13 team in 1973, the U/14 team in 1974, the U/15 as well as the first side in 1975 where they reached the quarter final of the Direkteurstroffee. Hy played for the first team in 1976 and 1977 and represented the Transvaal Craven Week team in 1977. During 1976, as a school boy, he had the priviledge to assist the 1976 All Blacks Syd Going, Kit Fawcett and Bruce Robertson with their kicking skills which inspired them to beat the Springboks in the last test match at Ellis Park. Louis also excelled at cricked and athletics where he won the Victor Ludorum trophy.
In 1978 he attended the Police College where he was chosen to play for the Blue Bulls U/20 team but decided to remain in Transvaal where he represented the Transvaal U/20 team. In 1979 he received rugby honours at Union Rugby Club by slotting over a penalty of 78 metres. He played for Union's first side from 1979 to 1980. From 1981 until 1988 he represented Diggers Rugby Club by playing over 150 games. He was one of the few players who represented Transvaal at all levels

From 1981 to 1993 he was the top point scorer in the Pirates Grand Challenge League. In 1989 he represented Pirates Rugby Club, who was promoted from the second to the first league, to a second place in the Pirates Grand Challenge together with English players such as Peter Winterbottom, Chris Butcher and All Black Milton Haig. In 1989 he set up a world record at Pirates by scoring a 110 points in the first four matches. He played again for Diggers from 1990 to 1994 and ended his career at Union in 1997 playing more than 300 league club matches.
He coached Union's first side in 1997 winning the league and also set up a world record by beating Soweto Defence 189-5. During 2005 he coached Voorbrand Laerskool's U/11 team where they reached the GLRU's finals. In 2006 he coached Voorbrand Laerskool's first side reacing the GLRU's quarter finals. In 2007 he coached Dinamika Hoërskool's first side who won the Falcons' Coke Series Final and also reached the final of the GLRU Coke series. He also coached Alberton Rugby Club's first side during 2007 as well the first side of the Predator competition. During 2008/9/10 he coached Union's first side.
Louis completed the SARFU Level 1 and 2 courses, Boksmart and the IRB Level 2 course.
Pierre van Jaarsveldt - First Side - Forwards
Pierre attended Laerskool Danie Theron, Carletonville where he played for the U/10 and U/12 teams. He also represented the U/12 North West regional side. When he was 13 his parents moved to Johannesburg where he attended Dalmondeor Laerskool and played for the first side. He then attended President Hoërskool where he represented the school at U/14, U/15 and then first side. Pierre played over 63 matched for the first side. He was selected to play for the Steenbokke and the Lions Craven week side in his matric year. After school he played two years for RAU and played Currie Cup U/21 and Vodacom Cup for the Lions during 1998/9. A serious knee injury prevented Pierre from participating in any rugby during the end of 1999.
He coached President Hoërskool's third side during 1998 and won the league. During 1999 he coached the second side where the team also won the league. He coaches the first team in 2000 and reached the quarter finals of the league. In the same year he assisted Namibia's U/18 Craven Week team. During 2001 he again coached the first team of President Hoërskool and reached the quarter finals. During 2002 to 2004 he again coached the first team where they won the Golden Lions league.
During 2006 he coached the U/15 team and won the Golden Lions league and Beeld trophy. He also coached the Lions' U/15 junior side and during 2007 the U/16 team and won the Beeld trophy.
During 2007 he coached the Lions U/18 junior clubs and won the tournament. He coached the Coke team during 2008 where his team took the series. He also coached President Hoërskool's first team during 2008 where they reached the semi-final.
Pierre coached the Union U/19 team as well as President Hoërskool's first side. During 2010 he coached Union's U/21 team.
Pierre obtained his SARFU Level 3 certificate and also completed an international course with All Black Craig Dowd and Australian Bob Dwyer for a top 50 schools coaching course with SARFU.
Pierre also completed the IRB Level 2 Course.

Team Manager - First Side - Blackie Swart
Blackie attended Porterville Primary andHigh School in Boland from 1970 to 1979. He also represented Boland's U/13 team as hooker in 1972. Blackie played for the first side during 1978and 1979. After school he joined the SADF and was selected to go to infantry school in Oudtshoorn to do junior leaders training. He then became corporal and was transferred to Western Province where he represented Western Province Command Rugby in the local Western Province league. In 1982 he was selected to play for Western Province's B side in the Castle Bowl competition. He played alongside players such as Steven Jeffries, Gerald Ackerman and Steven Jones. In 1983 he was transferred to Northern Transvaal Command where he represented the Command at national level cricket where he joined players such as Mandy Yachad, Roy Pienaar and Cyril Mitchley Jr. During 1984 hewas transferred to Witwatersrand Command where he represented Witwatersrand Command at SADF championship at rugby and cricket. He completed his Level 2 coaching course during 1986. At the Witwatersrand Defence Sports Club he managed and worked with players such as Martin Knoetze, Louwrens Oberholzer, Pieter de Haas, Ian Macdonald and Wahl Bartman. In 1992 he was selected as Manager for the SADF cricket side and received his national colours for cricket umpiring. In 1997 he became chairman of the EP Command Club. He then joined Alberton Rugby Club where he coached the U/21 team. In 2003 he became the Manager for Alberton's first side. He joined Union in 2005 - 2010 where he is manager of the first and second sides.

Fitness Coach - Kevin Peyper
Kevin Peyper started playing competitive football in 1973 at the age of 14 for Johannesburg Municipals. In 1975, on recommendation, Kevin joined Robertsham AFC playing for the U/16 team to go on to win the league. A positional change from left wing to full back brought provincial and National honours where Kevin was chosen to represent Southern Transvaal and SA Schools at under 16 level. The following year at the age of 17 Kevin was again chosen to represent Southern Transvaal at under 18 level. Kevin made his professional debut for Robertsham at the age of 17, on the 20th August 1976 playing in their 1st team against Pinetown, in Pinetown only to break his leg badly on the 24th August 1976. After a break of 3 years Kevin returned to the game playing soccer in the Defence Force for 21 Battalion and Wits Command. This was the restart of Kevin’s career and in 1981 Kevin was again chosen to represent Southern Transvaal at Currie Cup level. In 1982 Kevin was signed on a professional contract by Rangers F.C. and played here until 1984 where a serious cruciate ligament injury dictated that he retire from the demanding professional arena.
Kevin returned to Amateur soccer and played at Robertsham, Jeppe Quondam and Wanderers before retiring in 1995. In this time an integral part of the Southern Transvaal Currie Cup team, chosen to represent the “Transvaal” team and later chosen to represent Johannesburg XI for the South African Games. Kevin started coaching in 1983, a career in coaching spanning 30 years where he coached at every level as follows:

Kevin joined Union coaching staff in 2009, helping the Under 21 coaches with the physical aspect of training, later to move on to help the 1st’s
